MELANIE HOGUE
STORYTELLER

ABOUT
ME!
As a storyteller, Melanie Hogue has cultivated a unique perspective throughout her education, cultural upbringing, and career path. In 2019, Melanie graduated from Stanford's M.A. Journalism program and received her master's degree in Communications. A year prior, she received her bachelor's degree in English from Duke University. As a first-generation student, Melanie often credits her own cultural upbringing—a mix of traditional American customs, her father’s French Canadian methods, and her mother’s Peruvian practices—for the diversity she searched for in her studies and future career. She has dedicated her time to engaging in irreplaceable experiences across different fields, cities, and even languages. Whether it involved expanding her understanding of storytelling platforms—through internships in traditional book publishing and emerging technology—or challenging herself—through hikes up Mount Olympus and treks though the Amazon rainforest—each new experience provided for a unique chapter in her life.
